whee confirmation is over already. ahh. it was great, except that i was being especially blur today. hmph. i didn't even know what to do. so half the time i had this lost expression on my face. heh.
and i was called upon to give the offerings today with this other guy. and cos it was my first time, so i didn't know what to do. heh and i wasn't properly instructed on what to do. lol and half the time i was just busy concentrating on not dropping the cruets or doing something stupid. heh but i didn't okay. i gave the thingies to archie in perfect condition okay. [heh maybe i should stop calling the archbishop 'archie'. it sounds rude. ><] yeah just that i made this beeeg booboo right at the altar. hee by the time i reached the front of the altar, i was thinking 'oh great so what do i do now?' and then the archbishop was looking right over my head, so i thought i'd better wait for him to look down and accept the offerings. heh turns out that i wasn't supposed to wait. i was just supposed to pass him the stuff. and OOPS i didn't bow to him. the other guy didn't too. haha imagine that. archie bowed to us, but we didn't bow back. argh. so malu. :/ heh and the whole time i was feeling like this gigantic blur marshmallow.
heh and the confirmation part was so fast. gahh. basically we renewed our baptismal vows first, then came the anointing part. basically, archie just dipped his fingers into this mixture of oil and balm and then marked a cross on our foreheads. heh. and then he went something like "with this i seal you with the Holy Spirit". or something. i can't remember now. haha everything happened so fast. :/ so sad that i didn't really pay much attention to what was happening around me. i mean, it's a once in a lifetime kinda thing right.
heh. then we took a couple of pics. (: haha. the three of us: tess, jean and myself. haha. and then i took a pic with this very cute ij doll in the pinafore too! (x heh. it's hair looked like a monkey. hee i have the ij bear at home (: whee. oooh and then before the mass the whole gang of us went for last minute confession. hehe. so there was this whole group of us [it was practically the whole of my confirmation class] standing outside the confessional. so funny haha. heh oops i think fr tong could tell that i hadn't been for confession in a long long time. hmm. i wonder how he could tell. haha then he asked how long i had not been for confession... one year? haha i bet he almost fainted when i said "erm, actually i think it was a few years. " then i got this long pep talk about why you shouldn't miss mass and stuff. heh ooops. ><
ohh and there was so much food in the canteen! omg! haha today happened to be the feast of the sacred heart, plus it was our confirmation too! (: hee actually i think that was the reason why our confirmation was held today. cos it's our church's feast day! haha *boink* but i didn't eat. heh cos we were waiting around for many different people, so that we could get our certificates and our gift from fr tay! (: wheehee.
heh our gift from fr tay was a bible! (: yayy now i have a proper one. and the front page was signed by him too! (; heh and my cert looks absolutely cool too. (: my godmother gave me a cute little angel figurine too! haha it was holding a little rosary. (: and it had pink wings. heh. ohh and my face smells very nice too! cos of the chrism oil that was used on our foreheads. heh it smells super super nice! (: omg. i don't feel like washing my face. lol just joking. after all, it was oily. heh i seem to have smelt that smell before, but now i don't remember where. never mind. from now on, i shall always associate that smell with today (:

omg time really flies! tomorrow is my confirmation already! (: haha. i'm so excited! (x hee we had this last minute crash-course prep class today. (: it was very fun haha. and we had the class in the deceased fr chao's office! apparently he died in that room. therefore, it is supposed to be a holy room. and there was this toilet bowl installed in the office for his convenience, so when we went into the room, there was this nice little toilet bowl in the corner (: but i think fr chao was very poor thing anyway. he seemed quite nice.
haha actually i dunno whether to be happy or sad. i mean, duh, i'm happy that i'm gonna be confirmed! it's so exciting! (: lol. but it's kinda sad too cos i realise i won't ever be going for sunday class ever again. hmm. and i won't be seeing all my sunday class friends anymore. sigh. we were together since primary one, you know. it'll feel kinda weird not having to go for sunday class. sigh. i'll miss the lot of you. yeah. the whole batch of us, even those i don't talk to, but obviously not as much as my closer friends. duh. and i'll miss all my past teachers too! :/ bahh.
hehe. actually i feel a bit scared too. suddenly in the midst of the prep class today, i started getting this horrid feeling that i wasn't ready yet. i mean, there's going to be a whole lot of duties and rules to observe and stuff. heh but now i think i'm ready (:

whee! i went to megamall in batam yesterday together with my parents and my grandfather (: hee it was fun! lol batam looks loads better now... eheheh. took a ferry to batam centre in the morning. then we had a welcome drink at batam centre. it was just soft drink lah, but anyway it was nice of them to give us a drink. (:
then we went on this guided city tour. hee. first we visited barelang bridge. it rocked! haha the view was beautiful and it was super windy (: and the bridge itself was nice too. (: haha it looked like those typical european bridges. ><
then we went to some kind of buddhist temple to see the laughing buddha. haha apparently if you touch the smiley buddha on the ears, mouth and tummy, you'll get lucky. lol i don't really believe in such things, but i just touched it anyway. for fun. and nothing lucky has happened to me so far. hmmm. haha now you know why i don't believe in such superstition. ><
heh the temple was quite nice, in the sense that it was kinda big. (: yeah. and there was this large gold buddha sitting on the roof. haha.
then it was lunch. well the food was quite nice...i luv the vegetables! (: haha i seem to like vegetables a lot nowadays. maybe it means i'm getting healthier. (: but really. i think veggies taste loads nicer and more palatable than meat. meat is so... heavy. haha.
but then. obviously, perfect experiences never really exist right. we had to share table with this family of 6. 3 old people, 1 middle aged woman, and 2 young bitches. [no, i don't mean female dogs. i mean bitches, as in, real bitchy girls] okay one of the bitches was probably one year younger than me, and yeah she was bitchy, but still couldn't beat Ultimate Bitch, who was a few years younger. i don't think i've ever seen such horrid people in my whole life. I mean, people who whisper right in front of you and your mother with that gossipy expression on their faces, can't be that polite right? and Ultimate Bitch was so rude as to stare at my mom in the eye very rudely. well she stared at me too, but i gave her that "
quit it, you're below me kinda glare". and i don't mean to sound ego, but they're definitely below me. so low class. keep dropping food on the table. *rolls eyes* and Ultimate Bitch even imitated my mom flicking her hair. Poor deprived kid, never seen anyone flick her hair in her whole life. gosh.
but anyway. After lunch, we didn't really have to be in close proximity with the bitches, cos it was shopping time! yeah! (: which rocked. >< gahh but we didn't have enough time to shop. :/ haha there were quite a lot of shops, and there was matahari department store, and a hypermart within the mall too! (: whee. and then my mom and i had waffles at waffletown, usa! [haha my dad and grandpa got tired of walking] whee i LUV waffles! seriously! they totally rock! haha my mom had original waffle, and i had the banana one. hee. both were yummy! (: hee.
lol there i go talking about food again. >< *winks*
then on the return ferry, we sat on the upper deck, so it was really nice and windy, and we got such a clear view of the sea! very cool. hee. i like looking at the sea. it's so pretty (:

whee! we went to fort canning park the legends today (: haha cos my uncle bought a whole table, so he invited us along with my grandfather and godmother. >< hee so nice (: thx uncle james! (:
it was this event launched by the centre for fathering[or something like that] and the community development dunno-what. heh i can't remember such long names. >< haha it was like this fathers' day kinda thing. lol. and there was this prize presentation ceremony too for some essay competition about fathers. haha.
and of course, there was lunch. (: hee. i luv food. (: haha. i liked the vegetable lasagne. and the chicken salad. and all the dessert. (: *grins*
then there was a lucky draw. hee. and guess who got third prize? my uncle! haha. so cool right. one good turn begets another. (: whee i sound so philosophical. ><
then there was this person i think i know[not personally but just by face]. damn irritating lah. she kept on staring at me and my mom. pls lah. don't you know it's rude to stare?! that kind of snob face some more. o.0
okay okay. that's it for today. whee! i'm back from my holiday to cameron highlands! (: haha it was fun (: yayy. the weather was seriously great. it was like 22 degrees in the day time, and much lower at night [duh] cos it's quite high up. about 5000 + feet above sea level. cool right? (x whee.
haha the journey to cameron was quite fun cos it was a night coach so i had fun sleeping (: just that it was uber-cold cos the stupid aircon was blowing directly at me. :/ oooh then when we reached cameron highlands, we had to drive up this winding mountain road to get up the mountain. very fun! haha cos it was night time, and the sun wasn't shining or whatever, so i didn't get a headache.
our hotel was very clean [equatorial hotel] whee. (: me luvs clean hotels. oohh and then the tv had disney channel! apparently the hotel subscribes to cable vision. (: hee i like disney channel! i watched like at least 3 programmes before i went to sleep, and at least 2 programmes after breakfast in the morning. (: hee.
anyway. we went on 3 tours: agro, nature and leisure. (:
agro tour was really great. (: we went to look at the conventional methods of farming. and there was sooo many vegetable terraces! and most farmers grew cabbage! i like! whee. (: ohh and we went to the capsicum plantation too! the smell was very very yummy! nice and peppery. (: and the bell peppers were so colourful! hee.
cactus valley was kinda boring. i expected the cacti to be really wonderful and stuff, but they didn't turn out to be anything spectacular at all. hmm well okay, maybe they had a large variety of cacti. >< oooh i like the passion fruit there! haha and i saw a whole lot of them growing on trees. (:
next was the strawberry farm! i liked this place too! the strawberries were so nice and red, although they were supposed to be quite sour. >< their strawberry smoothie was nice! hmmm actually it wasn't really a smoothie, it was more like juice, but it still tasted nice anyway. (: a little bit tangy. we bought jam too! (: strawberries are so cute!
then at night we had this large dinner with dunno how many dishes. (: the watercress rocked. and they had this interesting vegetable called dragon's beard vegetable. then there was this horrible vegetable which was a cross between snow peas and long beans, so you can imagine how it tasted. then there was fish, chicken and noodles. the usual (:
next day was nature tour. we went to see a waterfall! it was in the forest so we had to make a short trek inside. lol it was small but nice. (: it was very cool to see the water cascading down over the rocks (x hee.
we went to one of the boh tea plantations [i can't remember what's the name now]. haha. and we went to the tea factory too! omg the smell in the factory really rocked. the tea leaves smell was really strong. (: hee.
ohh and we bought loads of tea products. like the lime fruit tea! (: and caramel teacino. and i bought a tea-leaf-shaped keychain too! (:
next, we drove up to the peak of gunung brinchang [or whatever it was called]. it's the highest peak in cameron highlands! (: then we climbed to the top of the viewing tower to take in the view of the surroundings. the steps of the tower were horrendously steep, but it was worth climbing up, cos the view was rather panoramic. [omg i sound so cliched! :/ ]
then came the horrid part of the nature tour: the mossy forest. first, i must complain about the woman who was trying to sell the tours to us. she said that this was the best part of the tour, since it was like this nice green mossy carpet, and people even took off their shoes just to experience the spongy-ness?!
i beg to differ. firstly, it was the worst part of the tour [ for me, and most other people]. and. the ground was not nice, but horrid; not green, but a disgusting shade of mud-brown; not mossy, but muddy; and not a carpet, but nothing more than muck. and not a soul took off their shoes. seriously. i felt so cheated. getting myself dirty like a pig, just to experience mud?! and we had to climb over tree trunks, squelch in the mud, and just keep climbing upwards over steps of mud. and this was in the middle of a forest, mind you. and the bloody guide was so freaking unhelpful. half the time, he just stood there and watched us struggle. sheesh. standing in front of the mud trail, i already knew what i was in for. :/ if not for the circumstances, i would not have gone.
next was leisure tour. (: it was mostly a shopping kind of tour. basically shuttling from place to place to get cameron products. it was kind of a rip-off though. like they took us to the marketplace in the afternoon when most of the shops were closed. ohh but the rose centre was quite nice. there was quite a wide variety of roses. and the roses were all so big and pretty! (:
we had steamboat for dinner! (: whee i luv steamboat. (: the soup was very nice haha. the cabbage and the vegetables rocked too! just that there was too much food for us to finish. we left quite a lot of food behind. oops :/
left for singapore the next day. we had to drive down the winding road again. this time it got quite bad, cos the sun was shining, and the road just kept on curving and curving, and we kept going round and round the countless bends. i'd never felt so sick in my whole life. :/ but after that i fell asleep so it was okay. (;
hee then after that, we stopped over at yong peng to get stuff! hee we bought lots and lots of food. like bubblegum! and laver! and peanuts and tapioca chips and banana chips and nutmeg and yam pastries! (: whee.
and that was the end of the whole trip!
and now, i'm back in old freakingly-hot singapore. and i just got bitten by a dunno what and my arms are itching. ugh. i hate this place.

i'm back from strings camp! haha it was really quite fun (: our first overnight camp haha! (x yayy!
the whole of the first day[yesterday] was basically practising for concert. hee aren't we pro? we actually managed to practise for one whole day, with only lunch and dinner breaks! wow! haha. actually not the whole day. we had some "section bonding" during sectionals too! hee i like section bonding. it was more fun than sectionals itself. (:
and violin one section was really small yesterday! only five of us. but nvm. small group makes bonding more fun! [but it wasn't really very productive for sectionals though] haha. "conniving money-minded freak!" amanda's denial of having muscular arms is really funny. and margaret's craving for subway amuses me. (:

i like my section! (:
i'm so proud of myself! i took 20 minutes to bathe and wash my hair and wash my face. [according to deborah] (: so fast right? faster than usual already. *grins* but poor margaret and deborah had to wait for me for like quite long. >< style="font-style: italic;">that kind of toilets. heh ] and the showerheads and whatnots were rusty! well, mine was. ): the water came out rust-brown at first. [ i almost screamed] but after that it was okay.
we watched "the red violin" before we went to sleep! previously i always had the impression that it was a horror movie, but it turned to be a literary sort of thing. hee. i still can't believe someone can be so perverse as to use his wife's hair as a paintbrush, and her blood as paint to paint a violin. ewww. and the violin was so popular somemore. seriously. anyone would be able to smell the blood on the violin right. :/ it's right under your nose when you play. and that pro little boy died too! so sad!
i didn't sleep the whole night. the floor was too hard, and the sleeping bag kept on tangling my legs up. :/ lol. maybe i slept for 15 mins or so. the rest of time was spent stoning at the choir room ceiling, which was quite high and slanted.
apparently, i wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep too. but most people fell asleep around two-something in the morning. and i was being harassed by sec 2s with potato chip cans! omg. it was quite funny lah. cos the pringles logo is this face with a moustache [i personally find it quite cute okayy], then shanin arranged all 4 potato chip cans such that all the faces were facing me. lol. then she said it looks like a xiao bai lian. haha. i thought it looked like bao with a moustache. >< haha then they kept stuffing the stupid cans to me lah! lol.
yeah we were eating chips at twelve something. we were hungry, you see. >< lol then someone said "oh my shit" but it ended up sounding like "oh my chip". haha. oh my chip! what a cute expression! sounds like something you'd hear in a casino. ("chip") heh. i'm so lame.
breakfast rocked! there was my fave kind of cereal. the kiddish and sweet kind: HONEY STARS!!! [huiying's pillow looked like a honey star] and cookie crisps! cocoa rice! milo cereal! koko crunch! and erm. froot loops. [i don't really like froot loops. they're sickeningly sweet] and there was milk for the cereal, of course. and peel fresh fruit juice too! (: beams
games were quite fun. (: yepp. just that it was quite sad watching some people's attitude towards the games. quite un-enthu. hmmm. maybe they just didn't sleep well the previous night.
hee the blindfold games and waterbomb games were very fun. (: lol the guessing composers from a-z thingy was funny. "nono"? omg i still can't believe there's such a composer. ooh and our group came up with such a groovy cheer! haha

haha i haven't exactly done anything productive during the hols >< hee but i've watched 2 movies already! (: hee i watched x men and the da vinci code. (: haha. they were quite nice (: but x men was such a cheat! i didn't stay till the end of the credits! gahh! well, but how would i know that there would be stuff at the end of the credits anyway?!
da vinci code was quite good but kinda insulting. heh but anyway, i do know that it is just fiction haha. (: tom hanks looked quite gross with that hairdo though. i mean seriously. it looked bad.
